A thought shared by Ian Tan:
"Handed with lemons, some of us grimace from the tartness. Some of us make lovely lemonades"
In most cases, it really depends how we react and choose to deal with the situation that are handed to us that matters for the most part. It will either make us better or bitter. It will either MAKE US or BREAK US.

Today's Gospel, July 30, 2008
What is the most treasured dream in your heart? Has it got anything to do with your faith? If not, then perhaps it is time to change your dream to something that will last a little longer than your present life. There are things in the world to which we have to attend. However, our eyes and heart must always be directed towards the Kingdom of Heaven. If they are not, we will become focused on the things of this world and that will be the end of eternal life for us.

Holy Spirit
From time to time, I wonder who this third person in Christ is, the Holy Spirit. I seeked but hasn't really understood, until on my 33rd birthday. The Holy Spirit somewhat touched me and gave me knowledge on what I am seeking in life.
One time in our life, we are there to ask " what is the purpose of our life here ? " and what should we be doing ...
I was enlightened by the Holy Spirit.. We need to check and learn how Lord Jesus walk in this life time. He was here for us, he was here to teach us and prepare us for the life with our father. If we just open our heart, the Holy Spirit speaks.

Health is Wealth
There are lots of diseases. Our health is wealth. One out of 4 has cancer. Most of my mom's side died of cancer, even my mom. Almost everyone knows someone who has cancer. It is our cells that grows abnormally.
Our life has a formula:
GENES(our parents and ancestors)
+NUTRITION(Food we eat, avoid fast food and preservative)
+BEHAVIOR(Stress, Habits like smoking, drugs)
+ENVIRONMENT(Fresh air and water)
=HEALTH n( Either we are healthy or not)
I am a descendant with cancer, I have the genes, what can I do? I still have 3 factors to have the cancer, so I need to eat nutrious food, avoid bad habits and live in a good environment.
Yes, I am kinda scared on getting the cancer disease, but upon studying it, I have the chance not to get it. There are some people who don't have the genes but abuses other factors which will still go to that road. I am not 100% free, I admit that, hopefully I can achieve to elude it.
One of the research I have is coffee enema, it's a kind of cleansing...
Materials needed
1. enema set
2. ky jelly
3. organic coffee
Coffee enema preperation:
1. Drop 3 tablespoon of ground organic coffee into 1 liter of water
2. Let the solution boil for 3 minutes and then simmer for 15minutes more.
3. Strain the solution and let cool to body temperature.
Procedure for instilling the coffee enema:
1. Have the botto, of an enema bag or bucket elevated only about 18inches above the tube's end that is penetrating one's anus.
2. Take your time letting gravity force the fluid into your rectum and bowel.
3. To make enemas most effective, the patient should lie on his right side, with both legs drawn close to the abdomen and breathe deeply, in order to suck the greatest amount of fluid into all parts of the colon. The fuild should be retained 10-15minutes.
The Biological Basis for Coffe Enema
Capable of removing circulating toxins and partial metabolites, the coffee enema dilates bile ducts. This happens because the coffee administered by means of cleansing enema stimulates an enzyme system in the liver known as glutathione S transferase (GST) that removes a vast variety of free radicals from the bloodstream.
Under the influence of a coffee enema the GST enzyme system increases in activity to 650 percent above normal and removes free radicals from the bloodstream. No material other tha coffee(not even coenzyme!10 or oligomeric proanthocyanidins) is known to stimulate free radical quenching in such a proportion. The free radicals are mopped up and removed by GST enzymes through the use of coffee cleansing of the lower bowel.
During the time the coffee is being held in the gut, all the blood in the body passes through the liver atleast 5 times. The blood circulates thgough the liver every 3 minutes(according to concepts espoused in Ayurvedic medicine, the liver regrows and replaces itself every 3 months). The palmitate compounds and the caffeine, theobromine and theophylline in coffee cause dilation of the liver's blood vessels and bile ducts, relaxation of smooth muscle, stimulation of intestinal peristalsis, and elevation fo bile flow.
The coffee enema removes ammonia like products, toxic bound nitrogen, protein derivatives, polyamines, coagulated clumps and complexes, all of whic are waste products of metabolism. Getting rid of them frees the body from becoming poisoned by it's own waste.
The coffee enema has a very specific purspose in the treatment and reversal of degenerative diseases.

A very inspiring email recieved
very inspiring article and recommended (must) reading! GBU dsgRick Warren (REMEMBER HE WROTE "PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE"). You will enjoy the new insights that Rick Warren has, with his wife now having cancer and him having "wealth" from the book sales. This is an absolutely incredible short interview with Rick Warren, "Purpose Driven Life " author and pastor of Saddleback Church in California
In the interview by Paul Bradshaw with Rick Warren, Rick said:
People ask me, What is the purpose of life? And I respond: In a nutshell, life is preparation for eternity. We were made to last forever, and God wants us to be with Him in Heaven.
One day my heart is going to stop, and that will be the end of my body-- but not the end of me.
I may live 60 to 100 years on earth, but I am going to spend trillions of years in eternity. This is the warm-up act - the dress rehearsal. God wants us to practice on earth what we will do forever in eternity.
We were made by God and for God, and until you figure that out, life isn't going to make sense.
Life is a series of problems: Either you are in one now, you're just coming out of one, or you're getting ready to go into another one.
The reason for this is that God is more interested in your character than your comfort.
God is more interested in making your life holy than He is in making your life happy.
We can be reasonably happy here on earth, but that's not the goal of life. The goal is to grow in character, in Christ likeness.
This past year has been the greatest year of my life but also the toughest, with my wife, Kay, getting cancer.
I used to think that life was hills and valleys - you go through a dark time, then you go to the mountaintop, back and forth. I don't believe that anymore.
Rather than life being hills and valleys, I believe that it's kind of like two rails on a railroad track, and at all times you have something good and something bad in your life.
No matter how good things are in your life, there is always something bad that needs to be worked on.
And no matter how bad things are in your life, there is always something good you can thank God for.
You can focus on your purposes, or you can focus on your problems.
If you focus on your problems, you're going into self-centeredness,"which is my problem, my issues, my pain." But one of the easiest ways to get rid of pain is to get your focus off yourself and onto God and others.
We discovered quickly that in spite of the prayers of hundreds of thousands of people, God was not going to heal Kay or make it easy for her.
It has been very difficult for her, and yet God has strengthened her character, given her a ministry of helping other people, given her a testimony, drawn her closer to Him and to people.
You have to learn to deal with both the good and the bad of life.
Actually, sometimes learning to deal with the good is harder. For instance, this past year, all of a sudden, when the book sold 15 million copies, it made me instantly very wealthy.
It also brought a lot of notoriety that I had never had to deal with before. I don't think God gives you money or notoriety for your own ego or for you to live a life of ease.
So I began to ask God what He wanted me to do with this money, notoriety and influence. He gave me two different passages that helped me decide what to do, II Corinthians 9 and Psalm 72
First, in spite of all the money coming in, we would not change our lifestyle one bit. We made no major purchases.
Second, about midway through last year, I stopped taking a salary from the church.
Third, we set up foundations to fund an initiative we call The Peace Plan to plant churches, equip leaders, assist the poor, care for the sick, and educate the next generation.
Fourth, I added up all that the church had paid me in the 24 years since I started the church, and I gave it all back. It was liberating to be able to serve God for free.
We need to ask ourselves: Am I going to live for possessions? Popularity?
Am I going to be driven by pressures? Guilt? Bitterness? Materialism? Or am I going to be driven by God's purposes (for my life)?
When I get up in the morning, I sit on the side of my bed and say, God, if I don't get anything else done today, I want to know You more and love You better. God didn't put me on earth just to fulfill a to-do list. He's more interested in what I am than what I do.
That's why we're called human beings, not human doings.
Happy moments, PRAISE GOD.
Difficult moments, SEEK GOD.
Quiet moments, WORSHIP GOD.
Painful moments, TRUST GOD.
Every moment, THANK GOD.

Jesus hears
I made this blog yesterday to help me search more for Jesus healing the sick. Today, I have been given more to think about, I receive a reflection from my email subsciption of Kerygma family, it's about Jesus healing.
Is Jesus wonderful? when we search for him, he find ways to get back at us. I would like to share you the reflection I received today.
Healing begins when you submit yourself and let nature heal itself. Jesus, who is not only the Healer but the very Healing Himself, has power over everything that afflicts our human nature. When He stands over us, we lie at His feet. Lying at the feet of Jesus is surrendering our selves to Jesus. This is the beginning of healing. The Gospel today says that Jesus healed not only by standing over the sick. He touched them. He laid His hands on them and cured them. No one can be healed without being touched. Doctors have to check on their patients. Patients must allow their doctors to touch them if they want to get healed. It is unthinkable that the first thing a sick man tells his doctor is Do not touch me. While cancer cells do sometimes metastasize when touched, healing does not also happen without the miracle of human touch. The touch of Jesus is a miracle in itself.
To surrender our selves to Jesus means to allow Jesus to touch us. Submitting our selves to Him should give Him the freedom to do whatever He wishes to accomplish in us. But beware! Jesus may touch us where it hurts most. Will we be willing to be touched by Him no matter the pain? Do we really want to get healed by His touch no matter the hurt?
While fever of the body is an easy illness to cure, fever of the soul may be more difficult to nurse. But both can be healed. We really know how. But are we truly willing?

Jesus healing the sick
Most of the days when everything is good and fine, we tend to forget Jesus. I have read in an email saying Jesus is mostly kept when we are in trouble and when we need him. That's partly true with me. There are so much blessings I have received, yes I prayed and thanked Jesus for these blessings. But I realized that it is not the same when I prayed to him when I needed him.
My experience with Jesus was when I delivered my second child prematurely, my son Elison was in the ICU for a month, those were the long months of emotional and physical stress, and spiritual thirst. Wanting to know if Jesus will be there to heal. I had read Jesus healing the sick, that he is there for us if we just ask. Knock and the door shall be opened to you, ask and you shall receive, these are the words he has left us with. But there is a question if my son will make it or not, we just need to have faith. Now, my son is 7 months old, I am still praying for him to be a normal child, we still have to monitor him. The doctors found fluid in the lateral ventricles of his brain. I just pray that Jesus will include Elison in his healings, that these retained fluids will be gone on our next check up.
